The Harvard Business School Club of Connecticut Community Partners is offering two grants to Connecticut nonprofit organizations and their leadership. The club\u2019s\u00a0 2015 Turbo Award, a $20,000 grant is given to a nonprofit organization that can best demonstrate how it would use this money to significantly benefit the Connecticut community. The Turbo Award is open to nonprofits from all sectors: social services, health, arts and education. Applications are also invited for a scholarship awarded to an exceptional leader of a nonprofit to attend Harvard Business School\u2019s Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management (SPNM), an intensive, one-week program taught by leading faculty and attended by nonprofit executives from around the world. The goal of the Turbo Award is to \u201cstimulate creative thinking about mission, impact and community needs,\u201d board member Robert Whitby said. \u201cFunds could be used either to improve an existing program, to launch a new initiative, or to enhance overall organizational effectiveness.\u201d The application deadline is Feb. 28. Scholarship Over the past 11 years Community Partners has sent 23 leaders from nonprofits in Connecticut to the management program. This year, it will be held at the Harvard Business School campus July 12-18. There are two prerequisites: Applicants must have served in their capacity of executive director or chief executive officer for at least one year prior to their application. Their organization must be of sufficient scale to require an annual budget in excess of $500,000. The application deadline is Feb. 16.
