Charlie Kafferman, a familiar and beloved figure to many on West Street and beyond, died Saturday at Danbury Hospital after battling cancer. Kafferman and his life partner of 42 years, James O’Shea, have owned and operated the popular West Street Grill, on West Street, for nearly 30 years.
