Three young Wilton residents were among 60 students from the Fairfield County area who recently completed a challenging session at Chamber Music Central's Summer Festival held at the Unquowa School in Fairfield from July 30 to Aug. 20. Participating from Wilton were Daniella Chavez, Elizabeth Kenneally and Katherine Kenneally.

Early in the spring, the young musicians had been selected through an audition process and then placed with peers at similar performance levels for this musical experience, now in its 15th year. Working in duos, trios and quartets, they sharpened their skills during coaching sessions, rehearsals, and theory and master classes under the tutelage of professional musicians. At program end, the groups showcased their achievements at a gala concert performance for family, friends and the public at Southport Trinity Church.

Chamber Music Central (CMC), based in Westport, is dedicated to providing opportunities for young musicians to learn and perform works of chamber music. CMC now operates as a year-round program-offering sessions in the summer, as well as fall and spring semesters. For more information, visit chambermusiccentral.org.
