WILTON — A drive-thru COVID test kit distribution is set to take place at Allen’s Meadows for town residents only on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Residents must register for a time slot using a link sent to all residents on Monday, according to Wilton First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice. The link can also be found on the town’s website at wiltonct.org

Time slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each vehicle that is registered will be given three kits.

“The first priorities for this distribution, as articulated by the state, are town-essential personnel and school personnel. We’re waiting to hear from the school about their needs before we will know the number of kits available for distribution,” Vanderslice said Monday. “Please note that the kits received are single-test kits, not the two per kit previously discussed by the state.”

After securing a time slot, residents are asked to enter Allen’s Meadows at the Danbury Road entrance and follow the directions of the CERT volunteers on hand.

The town had initially scheduled the distribution to take place on New Year’s Eve, but the postponement occurred after the state had delays in receiving the tests from California.
