Wilton police issued a news alert this afternoon notifying residents that Wilton's July 4 fireworks celebration has been delayed to Saturday, July 5.
All other town events planned for July 4 have also been rescheduled to Saturday.
All tickets for July 4 will be honored on July 5, they said.
Updates will be posted on the Town of Wilton Website at www.wiltonct.org.
Fireworks
The main show begins at 9:30 when the first firework takes flight, and the spectacle is expected to take 25 to 30 minutes.
Due to the popularity of the event parking is often at a premium.
Wilton Parks and Rec will sell patron parking passes for $35 each, $15 dollars more than general admission but this guarantees a spot right up until the fireworks.
Patron parking is at the tennis courts, Cider Mill, the high school athletic parking, the corner of School Road and Route 7 or the high school central office lot.
These passes may be purchased at the parks and rec offices or by going online wiltonparksandrec.org.
The night of the event a $20 general admission parking donation is requested. General admission will be at Comstock, Middlebrook, the high school north lot and Allen’s Meadow.
No dogs or sparklers are allowed at the fireworks.
