The theme of this year’s Roar With Laughter fund-raiser is “Love Unconditionally!”
The annual event — Wilton's Blue Buffalo and Canine Company are major sponsors — benefits Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) and it’s Saturday, Feb. 28, at 6:45 p.m. at BMW of Ridgefield.
This year’s event will feature the comedy of Ross Bennett, music by J. and B. Jazz Trio, hors d’oeuvres and dessert all evening from Collyer Catering of Westport, an open bar, and a silent and live auction.
All profits from the evening support the rescue, care and adoption of ROAR cats and dogs at the Donofrio Family Animal Shelter.
Each year at Roar with Laughter, an individual and a business are honored.
This year, William Adler will be the recipient of the Community Star Award and Amy Kule of Macy’s Parade and Entertainment Group, will be the recipient of the Community Business Award.
The ROAR Donofrio Animal Shelter provides shelter for cats and dogs and works with municipal pounds throughout Connecticut and with rescue operations in other parts of the country.
The shelter is a place for homeless pets to recover and await adoption. ROAR staff and volunteers provide care, exercise, grooming, playtime, training, and beds for all the cats and dogs in its care. ROAR therapy dogs regularly visit Wilton Library for the Tales to Tails program, where children may read out loud to the gentle animals.
Other supporters and sponsors of this year’s Roar With Laughter include Adam Broderick Salon and Spa, Fairfield County Bank, BMW of Ridgefield, Collyer Catering LLC in Westport, Dawn Hettrich Designs, Annette Webb, and Cornell University of Veterinary Specialists in Stamford.
