Wilton Family Y accepts nominations for Distinguished Citizen Award

The Wilton Family Y has opened nominations for its Distinguished Citizen Awards, which are given each year at the Wilton Community Celebration.

The Distinguished Citizen Awards have been made since 1986, and to date 75 individuals, organizations and businesses have received the award. The criteria for the award is a person, civic group or business who has made a significant difference in Wilton’s quality of life by giving exemplary and long-standing volunteer service to the community.

The awards will be presented at a dinner-dance celebration on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Rolling Hills Country Club. This year’s theme is “I Love Rock ’n Roll.”The event is a major fund-raiser for Y programs.
