Wednesday: Schools on two-hour delay, wintry weather continues

Wilton public schools will be on a two-hour delay Wednesday, March 4.

The Y is open but due to the delayed school opening, all program classes before noon are canceled, including classes held at the gymnastics center. All group fitness classes before 11 are canceled. Nursery school and morning Creative 2’s begin at 10:30. Babysitting will open at 10:30 unless the staff can get in earlier. A decision on all afternoon programs will be made by noon.

Rain is expected to continue this morning until noon, although with temperatures in the low 30s, roads could be slippery. The National Weather Service says this afternoon will be cloudy with a high near 37.

Tonight will bring a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow, changing over to all snow after midnight with one to two inches possible.

Snow is expected to continue throughout the day on Thursday, with a high near 22. Another one to three inches is possible.

Friday will be sunny but cold, temperatures in the low 20s.
