More than 40 volunteers turned out Sept. 30, including Wilton High School students past and present, landowners, and neighbors to build nearly 100 feet of boardwalk and reroute nearly 200 feet of existing trail in the Wilton Land Conservation Trust’s Harrison-Smith Preserve, which abuts Quarry Head Park. Together they encompass nearly 80 acres of forested land and meadows, highly valued for its importance for climate resiliency, clean water and wildlife preservation.

Among those helping out were master trailbuilder Dave Francefort and former Wiltonian Randy Tate.
