A vigil to remember the victims of the church shooting in Charleston, S.C., will take place Friday, June 19, from 7 to 8 p.m., at Wilton Congregational Church.
Six women and three men were killed when a gunman opened fire Wednesday night at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Friday night’s vigil will feature music, prayers, reflection and conversation. Area clergy, including Father Reggie Norman of Our Lady of Fatima and the Rev. Arnold Thomas of Wilton Congregational, will participate. Adrienne Reedy will sing.
“We will pray for the people who were killed,” Reedy said. Citing the safety churchgoers should feel when attending worship services she said, “this will impact all of us.”
