Wilton Pizza is a new drop-off point for the annual Toys for Tots campaign that kicked off this week. The drive is conducted by the Marine Corps League in this part of Fairfield County, and there are donation boxes at a number of businesses around town.
Marine Corps reserve units and league detachments conduct this annual campaign across the United States. Last year the Marines of the local campaign collected and distributed to disadvantaged children in northwestern Fairfield County more than 21,000 new toys. Most of the toys come from collection boxes at local businesses and schools. Some are purchased by league members using money donated to the Toys for Tots Foundation.
