Town sports camps offered

Wilton Parks and Recreation will offer many camp options this summer from June through August. Complete information may be found online at wiltonparksandrec.org or by visiting the office at Comstock Community Center, 180 School Road.
Here are a few sports-oriented camps that will be offered.
Tim Eagan Baseball Camp is for children entering third through ninth grade. Conducted by Wilton High School Varsity Coach Tim Eagan, along with Wilton High School Varsity Assistant Coach Don Heibeck, the emphasis will be on the fundamentals of the game. Camp runs June 22-25, 8:30 to noon, at the high school athletic complex. The resident fee is $150.
First Play Soccer Camp is for ages 5-11 with daily themes and soccer challenges. Instructors are from U.S. Sports Institute. It takes place July 27-31 at Lilly Field. Times range from 9 to 12:30, 9 to 4, and 1 to 4. The cost varies from $129 to $189.
First Play Lacrosse Clinic for ages 6 to 14 will emphasize stick handling, passing , scooping, dodging and shooting as well as other key techniques. It is ideal for beginners or intermediate players. Equipment can be provided. Camp runs July 13-17 from 5 to 6:30 at Lilly Field. The resident fee is $109.
NOVA SAQ Camp will focus on building athleticism, conditioning and speed on both a linear and multi-directional basis. NOVA teaches all skills and mechanics in a small group environment so athletes receive personal attention and instruction and have fun. Led by Kevin Foley at the high school track, there are two sessions for 10- to 17-year-olds: June 22-25 and July 13-16. Camp runs from 9 to noon and the resident fee is $160.
Fairfield County Basketball School is open to players of all skill levels and abilities from first through ninth grade. This camp focuses on individual instruction of basic skills and fundamentals. All children will be placed in appropriate age groups, then skill levels. Participants will learn as much as they can about basketball and have fun. Instructors are Todd Manuel and Colin Devine, assisted by former and current collegiate coaches and players. Camp takes place July 13-16, 9 to noon, at Cider Mill School. The resident fee is $140.
