Town mops up; power restoration estimates not available yet
Wilton Fire Chief Paul Milositz said this afternoon there are no estimates yet on when power will be restored. All energies are directed toward clearing the roads and some have been reopened.
First Selectman Bill Brennan spent time today touring the town and assessing damage.
The massive number of trees and wires down is making for slow going and has made it difficult for emergency vehicles to respond to calls.
“We are dealing with what roads are open,” he said. Emergency responders are familiar with the trouble spots and make every attempt to work around them to answer calls.
He reported there have been no significant storm-related injuries.
The shelter at Miller-Driscoll will remain open tonight and there are some guests taking advantage of services there.
