Charity Navigator, one of the nation’s premier charity evaluators, recently awarded Person-to-Person (P2P) its highest rating of four stars. This is the fifth year in a row the organization has earned this rating.

“Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that P2P adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way,” P2P said in a press release.

Only 6% of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least five consecutive four-star evaluations.

“In 2015, more than 2,200 individuals, businesses, foundations, congregations, schools and community organizations helped P2P provide financial assistance, food and clothing to 25,894 men, women and children,” Executive Director Ceci Maher said. “And for over a decade, we have been able to report that more than 90% of all donations go directly to client programs and services.”

Person-to-Person provides low-income individuals and families living in lower Fairfield County, including Wilton, with basic emergency services. Information: p2pHelps.org.
