John ‘Tom’ Pasiuk, a Wilton resident who has worked in the Department of Public Works since 1986, washes one of the department’s International Sidewinder trucks, essentially a large dump truck fitted with apparatus for spreading sand and salt. The truck gets ‘maybe’ six to eight miles per gallon of diesel while out on the roads, Mr. Pasiuk said.
