Specialized medical center to open in Wilton next year

Plans to open a state-of-the-art specialized medical center at 241 Danbury Road are underway, according to a Sept. 22 press release from the town of Wilton.
The new medical center will “address specific ailments with the highest trained professionals and the most up-to-date equipment available,” Sean McDonnell, U.S. lead for the Affinity Group of Avison Young said in the press release.
Cambridge Hanover, an industrial real estate investment firm in New Canaan, is planning to open the facility across from Wilton Town Hall next year.
“This exciting new facility ... will provide additional medical services and facilities to Wilton, as well as neighboring communities,” said First Selectman Bill Brennan.
According to McDonnell, patients will have access to “high level specialists in a modern facility that is both centrally located and easily accessible.”
Situated in the center of Wilton, towns like Ridgefield, Weston, New Canaan, Westport and Norwalk will also have access to the medical services provided at the center.

The site

The six-acre site of the future medical facility — which will “house an assemblage of healthcare professionals,” according to the press release — is the former Bran Blau headquarters, which has been vacant for more than 15 years.
Located in a professionally landscaped environment with convenient parking, the existing 40,000-square-foot building will need to be completely renovated, according to the press release.
There will be two Route 7 traffic lights and turn signals providing “easy and safe access and egress to and from the Danbury Road site,” according to the press release.
The new medical center is scheduled to open in June 2016.
