Six-inch snow coats Wilton, no power outages
The first major storm of the winter season has left Wilton relatively unscathed as the town digs out from about six inches of snow with a layer of ice on top.
The temperature is 29 degrees under cloudy skies. A 6 mph wind makes it feel more like 23 degrees.
The Wilton YMCA is open this morning and as of yesterday, Wilton Library had planned to open at 1 today.
CL&P reports no outages in Wilton. In fact, there are fewer than 50 outages across the state.
Metro-North reports “good service” on both the Danbury branch and New Haven lines.
There are no reports from police of major road problems, but roads are probably slick and anyone venturing out should drive with caution.
The sun is expected to come out later today with a high of 37. It will be mostly sunny Monday, but still cold, with a high of only 28. Clouds will increase Monday night bringing the chance for more snow on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
