Singer-songwriters are invited to apply for the honorary position of state troubador to serve as an ambassador of music and song and promote cultural literacy among Connecticut citizens. Applicants will be assessed by a review panel that will make a recommendation to the Connecticut Office of the Arts.

Applicants must first be nominated by a Connecticut resident by Monday, Feb. 5. If deemed eligible to apply, the application deadline is March 5. The term is two years — May 1, 2018 through April 1, 2020, although this may be extended to 2021.

Nominees must be Connecticut residents with a minimum performance history of five years and must have composed and performed at least one song that promotes Connecticut.
