Sign of autumn Ambler Farm will hold its signature event, Ambler Farm Day on Saturday, Oct. 4, from noon to 4. Families are invited to enjoy the apple slingshot, farm animals featuring the Flemish giant rabbits, make-your-own-scarecrow, hay rides, trebuchet (aka “punkin chucker”), children’s crafts, pumpkin patch, delicious homemade apple pies and baked goods and more. New to this year’s lineup of activities includes sheep shearing with Christina Wickson and a sprinkler safety presentation by the Wilton Fire Department. The cost is $20 per family. Organizers are asking for used clothes donations for the Make-Your-Own-Scarecrow activity, which may be dropped off at the bins outside the White Carriage Barn at Ambler Farm. Putting the event together are, from left, Friends of Ambler Farm Executive Director Robin Clune, co-chair and board members Priscilla Thors and Maria Wilcox, co-president Elizabeth Etzbach, board member Laurie Masonson, Sheila Lillis, co-president Alison Semple, Joan McCullough and Vivian McVey. Anyone interested in voluntering for Ambler Farm Day should email Maria Wilcox at email@example.com. Information: amblerfarm.org.
