Once again, the Wilton Historical Society and Wilton Library are joining together to provide a scholarly series pinpointing a time in America's history — The War of 1812. With a nod to our national anthem, the series is titled "A Star Spangled Nation."

The four-part series is sponsored by The Wilton Bank. The hosts are Louise Herot and Greg Chann with moderators Steve Hudspeth and Max Gabrielson sharing the duties.

Receptions will follow each of the talks. The venues alternate between the library and historical society. Registration is essential; visit wiltonlibrary.org or call 203-762-3950, ext. 213.

The series includes:

• Causes and Impact of the War with Matthew Warshauer; Sunday, Oct. 14, 2-3:30 at Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.

• Native Americans in the War with David Koch; Sunday, Nov. 4, 4-5:30 at Wilton Historical Society, 224 Danbury Road.
