The program on the history of food and spirits at the Wilton Historical Society tonight, Thursday, Nov. 1, is canceled. The program for Nov. 8 is canceled as well. The programs for Nov. 15 and 29 are still on. The society hopes to reschedule the canceled events.
The Halloween Owl Prowl on Friday, Nov. 2, at Weir Farm National Historic Site, has been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 9 from 7:30 to 9. The program is free. Park at Branchville Elementary School, 40 Florida Road, Ridgefield. Free shuttle to park.
Update: Wednesday: Wilton schools closed Wednesday and Thursday, will re-evaluate for Friday.
Shakespeare in Hollywood at the Wilton High School Little Theater has been postponed. The play was originally planned for Nov. 1-3. The new dates and times are Nov. 15 and 16 at 8 p.m., and Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. The contact information is unchanged — ticket line is 834-4844, and email is email@example.com.
Wilton Family Y is closed until Tuesday.
Postponed: Training for election poll workers, originally scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29, at 7 has been rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10 am at town hall.
Canceled: Debate between U.S. Rep. Jim Himes and Steve Obsitnik, Sunday, Oct. 28, 4 p.m., Clune Center at Wilton High School.
Wilton Library has postponed the "Area Author Affair" with Susan Schaller, author of JFK's Secret Doctor. It was scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. A new date is yet to be determined.
Wilton Library will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29-30, due to Hurricane Sandy. Staff reports "The building will reopen as soon as it is safe to be in operation."
All Social Security offices in Connecticut will be closed Monday.
The Wilton High boys soccer and field hockey teams' FCIAC semifinal games scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, along with all high school sporting events, have been postponed. The games have been rescheduled for Thursday at the earliest. The updated FCIAC schedule is here.
