SWRMPO meeting tomorrow, July 24

The South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (SWRMPO) will meet Thursday, July 24, to discuss transportation and non-transportation policy, programs and projects that concern the southwestern region.

The meeting agenda includes action items to endorse Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) amendments and information items, including updates on merger activities and upcoming meetings.

The 8:15 a.m. meeting will be held at the SWRPA offices in Stamford on the third floor of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.

The SWRMPO is comprised of the chief elected officials of the southwestern region’s eight towns — Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton — and the directors of the region’s transit districts.

As mandated by federal regulations, the SWRMPO is responsible for transportation policy development, planning, and programming of federal transportation funding for the region.

The SWRMPO meets the on the fourth Thursday of every month, at either the Norwalk Transit District or the South Western Regional Planning Agency. The public is invited to participate.
