Row, row, row
The Norwalk River Rowing Association launches the summer session with an inside look into the sport of rowing on June 6 — National Learn to Row Day — with an open house from 10 to 2, at Norwalk River Rowing, 1 Moody's Lane in Norwalk. The winner of an iWatch raffle will be announced and youth and masters rowers will compete in a mini-regatta for the home team. The event promises lots of door prizes, snacks, fun, barge rides and erg (rowing machine) instruction to give visitors a taste of the teamwork, athletic challenge and character-building benefits that are fueling the growth of rowing at the youth, collegiate and masters levels across the country. The rain date is June 7. Above, association rowers are, from left, Wiltonians Walker Woodworth, Joseph Apuzzo and John Taverna with John Bamford from Stamford.
