Police: Crash on Route 7 in Wilton sends one to hospital

WILTON — A stretch of Route 7 was closed Tuesday morning after a crash near the Ridgefield town line, according to police.

Around 10 a.m., units closed down Route 7 after a two-car crash. A car going northbound crossed the double yellow line, causing a crash with an oncoming southbound vehicle, according to Captain Robert Cipolla with the Wilton Police Department.

One adult passenger in the southbound vehicle suffered injuries that were not life threatening. They were taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, Cipolla said.

The department asked drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

After police investigated and the crash site was cleared, police reopened the road to drivers just before 11 a.m.
