Restoration effort focuses on side roads; two line crews added

First Selectman Bill Brennan reported this morning, Monday, Nov. 5, CL&P has added two line crews in Wilton to a total of 28 line crews.

The are scheduled to work on side roads in the following areas:

Ridgefield Road including Silver Spring Road north to the Ridgefield border.

Cheesespring Road to Valley Road at the New Canaan line

Sturges Ridge Road

Sharp Hill Road

Olmstead Hill Road

Warncke Road

Catalpa Road

Westport Road to the Westport border

Nod Hill Road including Piper's Hill

Repairing primary circuits is the priority, Mr. Brennan said. Power outages to individual homes caused by transformer problems or service connections will be addressed beginning this afternoon.

"Town officials are doing everything possible to communicate citizens' outages by street address to CL&P," Mr. Brennan said, adding they recognize "the agonizing ordeal" suffered by people without power.

Since the height of the power outages, 5,400 customers have been restored. Some 1,400 homes and businesses were restored Sunday.
