Report: Newtown fire companies extinguish structure fire at Ferris Road home

NEWTOWN — All area fire companies helped extinguish a single-family home fire Wednesday night, according to Newtown Hook & Ladder.

The fire company said it was called to Ferris Road at around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday for a minor working fire. The fire company advised travelers in the area to use caution. 

At the home, crews made an aggressive push, quickly extinguished the blaze and limited the damage to the home, according to the Botsford Fire Rescue and the Newtown Hook & Ladder. There were no reported injuries. 

All fire companies, including Dodgingtown Fire Company, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Botsford Fire Rescue, Hawleyville Fire Company and Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, were cleared from the scene as of 9:50 p.m., according to the Newtown Hook & Ladder's Twitter page. 

The Botsford Fire Rescue said the fire marshal's office is investigating.
