The American Cancer Society is seeking volunteers in Wilton to be a part of the annual Relay For Life event scheduled for the spring of 2017. Community volunteers lead and organize each local event with the support of the society’s staff. From assisting with planning the annual event to taking part the day-of, there are various volunteer opportunities for interested community members.

A meeting will be held for interested community members on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. at Trackside, 15 Station Road.

The Relay For Life is a community-based event where teams and individuals take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team has at least one participant on the track at all times and participates in raising funds to support the American Cancer Society’s mission to finish the fight against cancer. Four million people participated in more than 6,000 events worldwide last year.
