No one would dispute that being a parent can be challenging. But parents whose children display particularly challenging behavior may feel they have no one to talk to or no access to help. In Wilton, that is not the case.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Child and Adolescent Network (CAN) offers a support group for parents of children with behavioral, emotional and mental health issues.

The group will meet Monday, Feb. 22, from 10 to 11:30, at the G&B Cultural Center, 49 New Street. The meetings are free and confidential, led by trained and certified volunteers who themselves have had personal experiences raising children with these concerns. The meetings are a place to speak freely and be understood without embarrassment or the fear of being judged or treated differently. Parents come from Redding, Weston, Westport, Wilton and towns in the surrounding area.
