NORWALK — Firefighters extinguished a garage fire Friday night on Plattsville Avenue.

Deputy Chief Edward Prescott said the fire, reported at 5:20 p.m., burned inside the rear wall of the single-vehicle garage and into its attic space before it could be extinguished.

“The flue pipe attached to a wood stove, in the garage basement, below the garage, is believed to have contributed to the fire,” Prescott said.

There were no injuries from the fire and Fire Inspector Luca Feola is investigating the cause.
