Norwalk River Watershed Association will explore river health

The Norwalk River Watershed Association will explore whether the water quality in the watershed is improving at its annual meeting Wednesday, May 14, 7 p.m., at the Gilbert & Bennett Community and Cultural Center, 49 New Street.

Dick Harris, a water quality expert of Harbor Watch, will explain why the federal EPA has removed two sections of the Norwalk River from its list of impaired waterways. He will also give a progress report on the health of the Norwalk River.

The public is invited to join the association as it celebrates recent victories in water quality improvement in the Norwalk River and to learn more about ongoing efforts to protect and restore the watershed.
