Conte Construction repairs a washout along the Norwalk River Valley Trail caused by unusually heavy downpours last month. Workers also installed a trench drain where the trail meets Raymond Lane. Rains caused a washout and a significant drop off from the edge of Raymond Lane to the trail, resulting in a hazardous situation where it was feared someone could trip and fall. The trench drain is expected to safely direct streams of water away from the trail, and into the adjoining woodland. The cost of the repair was $2,000.
