NORWALK — A New York man broke into the home of a family friend and made off with about $1,300 in cash and goods, according to police.

Police said a First Street home was reportedly burglarized on the morning of Feb. 25.

The residents told police that a $300 Gucci belt was taken, as well as approximately $1,300 in cash.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry at the home, which led investigators to believe the suspect had a key to the home.

The investigation led police to a friend of the family, Jhomalier Reyes, 19, of the Bronx.

Reyes was arrested on Thursday as he attended an unrelated hearing at state Superior Court in Stamford.

Reyes was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny. He was held on $50,000 bond and given a court date of Oct. 22.
