News Notes: Pond support

Just a few weeks since the Friends of Horseshoe Pond launched a donation campaign to support lily pad removal there, the contributions are coming in.

At Monday’s meeting of the Board of Selectmen, First Selectman Bill Brennan said a number of donations had been received.

The 10 donations received between March 17 and April 7 totaled $495.

The group needs $15,000 to begin an aquatic herbicide program this summer that would reduce the number of lily pads. To make a contribution, send a check with Horseshoe Pond in the memo section to Conservation Commission, Town Hall Annex, 238 Danbury Road, Wilton, or call Anne Deware at 203-762-8265.
