New show exhibits beauty of America

A new exhibition at River Road Gallery is the aptly titled America the Beautiful, a display of limited edition prints published by The Greenwich Workshop that opens Saturday, Nov. 17.

The show features six nationally recognized artists who have earned accolades from prestigious museums throughout the country.

America the Beautiful encompasses the beauty of this country from the historic marine scenes by maritime artist Christopher Blossom to the lunar landscapes of astronaut Alan Beans. The West is represented by Native American storyteller, Howard Terpning and camouflage watercolorist Bev Doolittle next to the vivid canvases by R. Tom Gilleon. Americana is shown by Charles Wysocki and Paul Landry.

"The time is ripe between Election Day and Thanksgiving to share a patriotic 'show and tell,'" River Road Gallery owner Roslyn Strizver said in a press release. "The art by Greenwich Workshop, fine art publisher since 1976 is a perfect way to show how America is a beautiful and wonderful country."

The public is invited to an open house at the gallery on Nov. 17, to celebrate the exhibition, which will run through Nov. 29.

River Road Gallery is at 21 River Road in Wilton Center.
