Music on the Hill: ‘Songs of Thanksgiving’
The Music on the Hill Festival Chorus, composed of 30 voices from across Fairfield County, will present a musical celebration of Thanksgiving, with artistic director Ellen Dickinson, conductor.
“Songs of Thanksgiving” features an American sampler of works, from Shaker anthems from Enfield, N.H., to the contemporary Paul Halley. Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs, rendered in his signature style, and Stephen Paulus’s “The Road Home” add contemporary tonalities to songs deeply rooted in an American past. Elliot Z. Levine sets e.e. cummings to music in “i thank You God for most this amazing.”
The concert begins at 3, on Sunday, Nov. 10, at Wilton Presbyterian Church, 48 New Canaan Road. Tickets are $20 at the door or may be purchased in advance at firstname.lastname@example.org.
