Morning fog will be followed by rain and high winds

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 this morning and a high wind watch remains in effect from 6 this evening through late tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

Visibility of one-quarter of a mile or less at times this morning.

The day will be cloudy with showers likely, mainly after 3. The high today will be near 56. Winds will be 6 to 11 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph.

Winds from the south at 20 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts up to 60 mph, especially overnight.

The winds will be accompanied by rain, with thunderstorms possible after midnight. The low will be around 46.

Train service is reported as “good” by Metro-North.

No power outages reported by CL&P, except for 51 customers in Danbury.
