The "tale as old as time" will be told next week by the Wilton Children's Theater when it presents Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. at Middlebrook School auditorium. Performances are Friday, Nov. 16, at 7:30, Saturday, Nov. 17, at 4, and Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2.

This is the story of the lovely Belle, a French girl who gives her all to rescue her father, Maurice, who is being held captive in a castle by a terrible beast. Belle gives up her freedom to save his life.

Ultimately, Belle tames the unfortunate beast, enabling his transformation back into a handsome prince. The beloved fairy tale celebrates love, strength and loyalty.

The producers are Carla Quigg and Kathy Hand, and the director is Skip Ploss.

Musical director is Al Galletly, and Judy Abbatiello is the choreographer. Andrew Knapp designed the set, and costumes are the work of Sharon Burke and Pam Brown.

The cast includes Rachel Strazza as Belle, Cade Lewis as the Beast, Luke Maloney as Maurice, Henry Greene as Gaston, Brooke Amodei as Mrs. Potts, Quentin Doggett as Lumiere, Trevor Brown as Cogsworth, Madelyn Hand as Babette, Lindsey Hand as Chip, Finn Maloney as Lefou, Taylor Burke as Madame De La Grand Bouche, Joseph Redmond as Monsieur D'Arque, and Matthew Farago as the Footstool/Dog.

Tickets are $12 each and may be purchased Thursday and Friday at the Village Market from noon to 2, and at Middlebrook from 5:30 to 7:30.
