Wilton Library is planning an upgrade to its Integrated Library System — The Catalog — on Wednesday, Nov. 28, and that will cause a few changes in how the library does business.
Patrons are asked to bring their library cards on Wednesday if they wish to check out materials since the staff will be unable to look up account information.
Staff will not be able to check in materials, but accounts will be resolved on Thursday. Late fees cannot be accepted on Wednesday.
Items on hold cannot be processed. They must be picked up on Thursday, Nov. 29.
The drive-thru window and the self-check stations will not be available on Wednesday. Patrons are asked to bring items to the front desk for check out. Returns may be left in the blue book bins in the parking lots which are accessible from Old Ridgefield Road or Godfrey Place.
The catalog will be unavailable while it gets its makeover; patrons may check ReQuest, the statewide catalog to find materials.
The result of the upgrade will be a cleaner looking catalog with streamlined and expanded searching options; a more user-friendly patron account and new ways for new items to be displayed.
