The Wilton Knights of Columbus will present its sixth wine and beer tasting event Saturday, Oct. 19, 7 to 9 p.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Hall, 35 Northfield Road, Weston.

The event, which will also feature a silent auction, will benefit Female Soldiers/Forgotten Heroes Homes for the Brave, which has been guided by Shalini Madaras of Wilton.

Estate-bottled wines from California, France and Italy will be provided by Vintage Fine Wines of Wilton as well as several beers from microbreweries featured at the shop. There will also be a selection of hors d’oeuvres donated by local restaurants.

The event has drawn a larger crowd each year, said Gene Ferguson, who is involved in planning it. “We’ve increased the amount of money we raised each year as well,” he said. In the past, the money raised was given to the pastor’s fund at Our Lady of Fatima for Father Michael Palmer to distribute at his discretion to those in need. This year, Mr. Ferguson said, the Knights decided to support Homes for the Brave, which operates the Pfc. Nicholas A. Madaras Home for female veterans in Bridgeport.

Tickets for the tasting are $30 per person, $50 per couple, and may be purchased at the door or in advance at Vintage Fine Wines on Ridgefield Road in Wilton Center, Higgins Real Estate on Center Street, or after Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Fatima or St. Francis of Assisi.
