Always on the lookout for new opportunities to help raise funds with which to support its many charitable endeavors, the Kiwanis Club of Wilton has hit on a new idea — a pumpkin sale.
At the end of September or early October, passers-by will see the lawn at the Wilton Historical Society sprout the bright orange squash as the site of the sale.
“We will have pumpkins of all shapes and sizes and they will be sold at competitive prices to any and all who are looking to dress up their properties for the Halloween season,” a Kiwanis press release said.
The sale is tentatively scheduled to begin Saturday, Sept. 26 and continue on the following days: Sept. 27, Oct. 3, 10, 4, 10, 11, 12, and then daily from Oct. 17 to 31. Hours of operation are not yet set.
Proceeds will go to help one of the many charities the Kiwanis Club supports, including the American Cancer Society, American Home Front, Family and Children’s Agency, Stay at Home Wilton, Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, Trackside Teen Center, Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Wilton CERT.
