Kiwanis prepares for citrus sale
For the 23rd year the Kiwanis Club of Wilton is preparing for its annual citrus sale. This is the club’s largest fund-raiser with the proceeds going to one of the many charities it supports each year.
In 2015, the club distributed 1,400 cases of fruit, it’s best year ever. Hoping to improve on that performance, the club has partnered with other groups such as the Grace Community Church in New Canaan, the Wilton High School wrestling team and, new this year, the Knights of Columbu of St. Matthew Church in Norwalk.
The Grace Church dedicates its funds to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission and the Knights will be giving their proceeds to the Fisher House, a place for veterans and their families to stay while being treated at many of the VA hospitals around the country.
Orders will be accepted through Feb. 24, for pick up March 4-5.
