Kiwanis club launches citrus sale

From now until March 5, Wilton area residents may  order Florida oranges, grapefruit and tangerines during the annual Wilton Kiwanis Citrus Sale.

The citrus sale has been a seasonal Wilton Kiwanis tradition for 21 years.

“Everyone who participates in the sale is a winner,” said Nancy Pantoliano, Wilton Kiwanis president.

Ms. Pantoliano said Kiwanis will distribute 100% of the net proceeds to dozens of local nonprofits.

Over the years, the club has provided financial support to Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Ambler Farm, Child Guidance Center, and many other organizations.

Donations will also enable Kiwanis to contribute fresh fruit to local food pantries and shelters.

The handpicked, tree-ripened pink grapefruits, Valencia oranges and honey tangerines from Vero Beach come in eight different packaging combinations, ranging from $25 to $45.

Fresh fruits orders may be placed either online at or by mail.

Mail order forms can be printed from the Wilton Kiwanis website or picked up at the following locations:

• Wilton Library;

• Stop & Shop;

• People’s United Bank;

• Wilton Family Y;

• Bankwell.

Fruit may be picked up at ECS Transportation, 390 Danbury Road.

Delivery for six or more cases of fruit can be requested and additional fruit will be available for sale during the pickup days:

• Friday, March 14, noon to 5;

• Saturday, March 15, 9 to 5;

• Sunday, March 16, noon to 5.
