Jeff Yates, national director of volunteer operations for Trout Unlimited, will be the guest speaker at the Wilton Kiwanis Club meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 12. A former editor of The Wilton Bulletin, he is also author of Fly Fishing Fairfield County: Secrets of Suburban Streams.

Trout Unlimited is a grassroots conservation organization with more than 400 chapters across the country.

Along with his service on the board of the Mianus Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Yates was a founding member of the Friends of Mianus River Park, a past officer of the Wilton Historical Society and an ambassador of the American Museum of Fly Fishing.

When he's not guiding or fishing, Yates is leading river restoration projects or planning fishing and conservation events and clinics. He lives on Candlewood Lake in New Milford with his fiancée and their two daughters.

The public is invited to attend the lunch, which begins at 12:15, at a cost of $15 per person, but reservations are a must for non-members. Reservations can be made by calling Bud Taylor at 203 354 0208.
