Grief workshop is available for those who have lost a pet
Wilton's Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will offer a bereavement workshop to help adults cope with loss following the death of a beloved pet.
The workshop will be Thursday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the agency's offices in Suite 114 at the Health and Wellness Center of Norwalk Hospital at i.park, 761 Main Avenue (Route 7) on the Norwalk/Wilton town line.
Pets provide companionship, emotional support and unconditional love. Given the intense bond between people and animals, it is natural to experience devastation when a beloved pet dies.
While there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there are healthy ways to cope with the pain of losing a pet. Participants in this workshop will be offered a safe place to express their feelings of loss while finding acceptance, comfort and support.
Kristin Carpenter, a grief and bereavement counselor, will lead the workshop.
The bereavement workshop is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required. Information and registration: 203-834-6341, ext. 265.
