Luke Borrero, a member of Youth United, holds the gingerbread house he made last week. The group, part of Habitat for Humanity, met on Dec. 7 to assemble gingerbread houses to raise funds and awareness of the need for adequate housing in Fairfield County. The gingerbread creations will be on display this week at the Wilton YMCA and offered for sale as holiday centerpieces on Saturday morning, Dec. 20, at Stop & Shop, which contributed the cost of icing and graham crackers. The  houses will be sold for $20 each, but donations of any amount will be accepted. Contributions will go toward a State Farm Insurance Challenge matching grant if $10,000 is raised regionally.
