Full charges against Wilton preschool teacher announced

Eric Von Kohorn, a Bridgeport resident and former Wilton preschool worker, was arrested yesterday, Aug. 20, on the specific charges of first-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance, a state police press release said last night.

The preschool paraprofessional had been under investigation since at least June 11, the day state police alerted Wilton schools to their investigation.

He was arrested after an investigation by the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Investigations team, which commands the state Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The detective in charge of his case is State Police Det. Jon Carreiro.

The computer division was assisted by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and United States Homeland Security.

In all, the computer crimes investigation resulted in the arrest of six men including Mr. Von Kohorn; James Kyle Bidwell, of Manchester; Jaysen Timothy Puerta, of Norwich; Pedro Cambisaca, of New Haven; Eli Echevarria, of New Haven; and Edwin Alton Scotton, of Suffield.

After his arrest, he posted $50,000 bond, and is due in Bridgeport Superior Court on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Further details will be posted as they become available.
