Former Wiltonian makes tracks in music
Felix Snow (aka Bill van der Heyden) is a former Wilton resident, a 2008 graduate of St. Luke’s School and 2012 graduate of NYU’s Clive Davis School of Recorded Music. (His parents still live in town.) He was recently featured in Interview magazine as an up and coming artist in the emerging music scene.
The article, titled Soundclouds of the Underground: Back to School Edition, explained “some of the newest and most exciting (Internet-firiendly) artists can be sought out via Soundcloud, the online stage that allows musicians to promote and distribute their music to fans and friends across the globe.”
Mr. Snow, who lives in Los Angeles, recently signed with Warner Chappell.
Writer Alex Chapman reviewed Mr. Snow’s song, This Pool Party Feels Like A Funeral, with vocals by Various Cruelties. He described Mr. Snow as being “no way imprisoned to a particular genre,” having created “radio-ready bangers for artists like rap legend Eve and has his hands in the indie world, having been responsible for Julia, a song by TDE’s rare R&B bird SZA.”
Mr. Chapman describes This Pool Party Feels Like A Funeral as a “sleek and sexy track ... A far cry from Julia, one thing remains a constant in Snow’s work: a powerful and focused energy, which anchors this drum-heavy hit all the way to the dance floor.”
