The annual CT United Ride motorcycle ride will travel through Wilton on Sunday, Sept. 9, and Wilton police warn drivers to expect delays as the group passes through. The ride attracts thousands of motorcyclists.

"The ride is expected to enter town from Westport at approximately 11:45 a. m. via Route 33 (Westport Road)," a police report said. "The ride will travel north on Route 33 to Route 7 (Danbury Road) and will continue north on Route 7 until reaching Route 107 in Georgetown, where the riders will turn right onto Route 107 and proceed into Redding."

The group is expected to be completely through Wilton by 12:30, police said.

The 60-mile ride covers 11 towns in Fairfield County. The riders will be escorted by state police and will make no stops at lights or signs. The ride will end in Bridgeport with a five-mile parade.

Proceeds benefit Connecticut firefighters and law enforcement and two United Ways.
