Danbury Music Centre seeks players

The Danbury Music Centre is seeking singers and musicians who want to play in an orchestra or sing in a chorus.

There are vacancies in all groups: the Danbury Symphony Orchestra, the Danbury Community Orchestra, the Danbury Preparatory String Orchestra, and the Danbury Concert Chorus. Rehearsals are at the Danbury Music Centre at 256 Main Street, Danbury.

The Danbury Symphony Orchestra is directed by Ariel Rudiakov and rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 10. There are openings in all string sections.

The Danbury Concert Chorus is directed by Christine R. Howlett and rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:45. There is a special need for tenors and basses, however new singers in all sections are invited to join. There are no auditions.

The Danbury Community Orchestra is directed by Stephen Michael Smith and rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9. There is a special need for musicians who play bassoon, percussion, and viola, but all musicians are invited to inquire about joining this group. A balance of teenagers and adults will be maintained in all sections.

The Danbury Preparatory String Orchestra is directed by Glen Lebetkin and rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9. This group is comprised of string players (violin, viola, cello, bass) of all ages who have had limited experience playing in a group.
