In just a few weeks, the white tents will go up at the intersection of School Road and Route 7, next to the tennis courts, signaling the start of another Minks to Sinks Sale.

The event’s volunteer organizers call it “the largest outdoor tag sale in Connecticut,” with bargains on new and gently used household merchandise and seasonal clothing. The fall sale, which benefits Family & Children’s Agency, starts on Saturday, Oct. 1. The more than 200 volunteers who work the sale will start accepting consignments and donations on-site the week before the sale.

Consignors who will be consigning 10 or more items, excluding clothing, at the fall sale can call 203-762-0520 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. before Sept. 12 to arrange for volunteers to come to their house and price and tag the items. Then the consignor can simply drop off these items at the site of the sale at their convenience, between Monday, Sept. 26, and Thursday, Sept. 29.

On-site consignments will be held at the Minks to Sinks site on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 10 to 2; Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 10 to 2 and 4 to 6; and Thursday. Sept. 29, from 10 to 2.

The sale’s opening day on Oct. 1 runs from 9 to 5. Bargain days, when all merchandise is 50% off the ticketed price, are Sunday, Oct. 2., noon to 4 and Monday, Oct. 3, 9 to noon. For more information, and a list of the merchandise accepted for donation or consignment, visit minkstosinks.info.
